Our Mission

The Action Mapping Project is committed to engaging issues of livability, equity, and voice in marginalized neighborhoods through the use of participatory data collection, spatial data analysis, mapping, and data visualization.

Core AMP activities include:

  • empowering youth to transform their everyday experience and neighborhood knowledge into information that can be used to advocate for change.
  • motivating neighborhood improvement activities that reflect the interests, culture, and priorities of local residents.
  • collaboration with partner organizations, neighborhood groups, and other placemakers to generate new understandings of marginalized places.
